Petco $1 a gallon sale

Yes, started today Petco $1 a gallon from 10 ,20, 29, 40, 55, ti'll July 21, just in case someone interested.

finally its back. 20g is it only the regular or can be the 20g long?

I'm pretty sure any 20 gallon? Yes the biggest size it said was 55 gallon. 90 gallon no good, only once I heard 75 gallon. Not this time..

Just remember that they charge you the tax on the regular price of the tank then reduce the price to the 1/gal rate. You can obtain a form that will enable you to get the tax difference online I believe.

there's also petland but not sure hwen they have sales. Another retail outlet for $1/g tanks but they go up to 75g.

I just saw this post after replying to last years, sorry. I believe Petlands sale is going on now but not positive (friend told me). Here was my experience at Petco today:

I just got back from Petco and purchased 2 40g tanks. I was charged tax on the normal price. I argued but they said that was policy and even had a printout on the register. However I looked and found this:

If the item is on sale at a reduced price, or with a store coupon issued by the seller, sales tax is charged on the reduced priced.

If the reduced price is the result of a manufacturer's reimbursement, such as a manufacturer's coupon or rebate or any other third-party's reimbursement, then the sales tax is charged on the full price of the item without regard to the reimbursement to the seller.

I just checked my receipt and where the discount line is it says "PALS MFG CPN" WTF? As far as I can tell this is a sale by Petco and not a manufacturer rebate by Aqueon and the wording on the receipt is strange Pals is not a manufacturer.

PALS is Petco's frequent buyer program, http://www.petco.com/Pals/PALSEnrollment.aspx.

If it says it's a MFG coupon then they are right by taxing you at the original price. What was it $120? Even if I had to pay the full tax, it's still a hell of lot cheaper when these tanks was never included in this sale.
