How Much Chaeto Are You Harvesting?

How many ounces of chaeto per month or week, approximately, are you harvesting from your refugiums?

I gave a packed small ziplock bag worth to a buddy of mine and i was left with a quarter of what i had.. Im back to what i had in approx. 1 month

Mine doesn't grow. I probably harvest a handful about once a month. I think its my light. I need to get a better one.

I use one of those energy twisty bulbs on a 5 dollar reflector , I got a ziplock from boogie and have now given away 13 sandwich bags I'm a matter of 7 months or so

Haha for some reason man my chaeto don't grow. I have a t8 fixture over the chaeto on reverse lighting and it don't grow. Maybe my nitrates are to low

How many ounces would you say a bag's worth weighed? Less than the weight of an egg? Slice of bread? Pack of cigarettes? Thanks!

I grow Chaeto very,very fast , i give a way few members , i grow 4 basketball size ( 90 Gal. sump) i gone trim again this week, i may cut down to only one, NO GFO, i stop AC also, i try to keep my PO4 between 0.02 to 0.04. I use cheap fluorescent light bulb (2.700 K) i change the bulb every time , stop working.lol

dan i wouldn't say much weight (most weight comes from the saltwater in the bag).... Cheato is really light so packing a small ziplock bag (sandwich bag) is alot of cheato to start off

...it doesn't really grow too fast for me only because I know I'm not providing the best enviroment for it, other macros like Dragon Breath etc.. grow better for me...when I was in Hawaii I saw chaeto the size of a sofa just tumbling and floating around in mid-water with alot of marine life following it....give it bright light, keep it moving and once in awhile spread it open because as it grows into a think bundle it will just collect detris...
BTW.. Huma triggers and Moorish Idols travel in pairs and yellow tangs form schools by the thousands....

Lol how do you get your Chaeto to stay like that?

How do you get yours to flow like that? My chaeto is in my fuge. I have a drain pump going directly into it. I made sort of like a rock wall for the chaeto to stay on the side where the drain is. I placed a little seio pump to get some movement/tumble but no luck at all

I'm growing about as much as Widdy in my DIY Macro Reactor every 1-1.5 weeks. I'm lazy to clean it out because I don't always want to throw it out so I think I could get a solid amount every week. Figure, it's about a gallon worth of chaeto a week.

Proper lighting and tumbling will make it grow fast. Not solely based on high nutrients
