Ok here it goes. .......... It even lacks features found even on the most basic phones such as voice dailing, at&t cellular network was so slow for Internet access it amd you long for dial up. You have to switch to a different keyboard vien the iPhone has two- every time you want to insert a comma or period. How annoying is that? Apple claims that the battery loses capacity after 300 to 400 charges. Eventulally, you'll have to spend the pone to Apple for battery replacement, much as you do now with an iPod - but a cell phone? John-Paul there is so much more pick up todays New York Times and read it and maybe you wont be that tired searching on MR for threads/posts.

This is like every thing else. Its the new hottest item out and everyone wants one but it has have the kinks worked out of it. But I don't see it being any better than a Pda or smart phone. Also the whole touch screen thing is cool but I could that getting messed up real quick. Is this kinda like the aussie acans and tyree coarls ? LOL

i thought i read it was like 200k/s download.. thats plenty fast for web surfing, maybe not if you're planning to download movies. I don't know about the comma thing, but the battery suppose to last over a week standby, or over 24 hours of talk time which I would say it'll last 3 days or so minimum between charges WITH NORMAL use, so thats 4+ years to replace a battery, assuming you don't want a new cell phone after your 2 year contract expires and your phone isn't scratched up by dropping it.
I am generally not an apple fan, but it looks like a good product to me, but I don't want to pay the price of the expensive phone and get raped paying the monthly bill, especially since I would barely use the data plan and don't talk on the phone that much

Never had a problem with my blackberry from at&t. Its internet capable and for a phone its not that slow. And how is there dial up on a wireless phone.

Actually I got my blackberry for free with a 2 year contract. And I don't think the blackberrys are for people that have money but I think the iPhone is. I mean 500 for a phone with a 2 year contract and no mail in rebate or instant discount no way. The iPhone is geared for people that believe in hype. Because I mean even my blackberry has its flaws. But I can talk and listen to music, and cruise the internet on my pearl.
