Thanks for the personal attack. I believe it is up to each person to determine what they believe is a sign of respect or lack thereof. Your input is appreciated. ANyone else have an opinion?

With all the crap in baseball (and other sports) right now you think Ichiro speaking through a translator sent a poor message? This is a guy who never complains and just shuts up and plays the game as well as anyone.
I hope my children grow up to be like Ichiro!
Although if my children are japanese I am probably going to have to have a word or two with my fiance...
because she's not japanese.
so it would mean she was sleeping with someone other than me.
which would mean the children wouldn't really be MY children, so I guess this tangent is kind of moot anyway.
hmmm
With Europeans flooding the NBA, it seems only the NFL remains almost entirely American/Canadian among our popular pastimes.
:usa1:
I think Americans that speak Ebonics should use a translator.
I would rather have Ichiro use a translator than have my children idolize some of the NFL thugs. How many baseball players have been arrested for felonies this year. Compare that to football. Half the bengals were arrested just to name a few. And don't even start with the NBA...
Congrats to Ichiro, a player with class...
this is some really disturbing comment. this is really bringing us back in time again. I'm not going to get started because i will guarantee you this thread would be closed. But it may just be that AMERICANS are not the best baseball players in the world. and sorry to disappoint you, but scout's are not sitting in our back yards looking for our talent. There sitting in other countries looking for the best players in the world. Take away the minority from this sport and you will probably have a better time watching figure skating. The last time i checked this was the USA. A very diverse country that is put together from all great nationalities. I don't care if they can't speak English. There not here to teach my children in school. there here to play baseball and i don't think you need to speak English for that.... Or do you.It bothers me....you want to play in America...learn the language. Even the Latin players i laugh all the time cause they in this country for soooo long and their english sucks...but congrats to Ichiro anyway...arent you supposed to know some type of english to get your citizenship...then again the MLB probably just buys the citizenships for the players...
