Vortech warning!!!

DO NOT max your Vortech...I came home saw something flapping in the Vertech....and saw this :irked:not sure how long its trap in there thought it must been dead...

but still alive...as soon it got out other fishes going after her dead flesh:irked:

i have to leave it in a container inside the tank for now not sure she's going to make it. my question is should i leave it or just trash it:ANYWORD:

The vortech come with a thin sponge material which you can put over the intake to guard small fish from getting in.
Sorry to hear about your hippo, I personally wouldn't use the sponge thing as well, but they at least do supply it to safeguard it

Sorry to see that.....I had something no where near as drastic.. About a month ago i had a small snail get inside and commit harri karri as well as jamming my wetside. From that point on I put the foam covers on the intake. I clean them weekly. I wish i would have shared this story earlier maybee it would have helped your tang.... I hope he recovers...

Sorry to hear about the Dori .. If I have the sponge I will put them but I don't . I should order it . 2 days ago same similar thing happen. I turn of all my circulation and feed the tank and for about 30 minutes I turn them on and walk away..1 hr later, I hear a rattling noise and first thing I check was my return pump and my sump and one thing you know it was a snail that got trap inside and the propeler is hitting it :lol: . Anyway I think I should get the sponge , don't want to see my Blotchy inside ...
