I don't think BJ threw in the towel, it was ended by the Dr.s recommendation. The dude had nothing left anyway, the 5th round would have killed him if he went out.
All he did in the 3rd and 4th was lay on his back and get his head punched, I think GSP was not knocking him out on purpose at that point, just hitting him enough to keep BJ conscience so he could keep beating on him. He even said at the end of the match that's what he had wanted to do for all the crap BJ talked and to make up for the last fights close decision.

BJ talks so much trash, and he backs it up like that. Dana is right, the guy is freaking lazy like hell. After the first round he was dead even before taking a punch or a take down. He didn't threw a jab or attempt any kind of combo punching. It was a disgrace to be a world champion and fight like that. Doctors stop nothing he just got a bruise eye, he just quit. BJ should retire and never step into the octagon again.

Gsp did nothing special, grind it out.

Clearly a disgrace to the island of Hawaii.

Kim was robbed for sure, he took karo down what's with that upkick and then dont' restart from the bottom. What's with Rogan and Kim.

I think Anderson Silva should be the next contender for GSP...Not for nothing but I think Anderson Silva will put a whippin on GSP, if not give him equal competition....and then do the little dance he does after he wins...

BJ Penn may very well lose to Ken-Flo when he defends his 155 lbs belt. GSP vs Silva would be a great match but I think Silva wins in the end as long as he doesn't toy with GSP like he did in his last fight.

I really liked watching Machida fight, I wish that had lasted longer.

I saw him fight Tito last year. Someone's going to have to figure out a new strategy to beat him, the normal stuff does not look like it's working for his opponents.
Who do you guys think is going to be matched up with him next? I could not believe how fast he took apart Silva.

He might have to fight one more fight before getting a shot at the title (assuming he wins his next fight.) Don't be surprised if it is a big name like Rampage or Forrest (if Rampage isn't fight for the title or Forrest) or possibly even Chuck, Jardine or Wanderlei Silva. I have seen Machida fight a few times, I think he fights Forrest (cause I think Evans will fight Rampage) and then Machida beats Forrest and fights the current champ.

BJ is a prodigy kid. He is an amazing fighter. DID YOU SEE that GSP was unable to take him down the first 2 rounds?

His strategy was like he said, he put all of the blood running into his shoulders to make them VERY stiff. And with that said, BJ's strengths (boxing) were nolonger good and GSP dominated him.

I got to watch the fight last night and I agree. At no point did he slather vaseline all over GSP. Penn didn't train correctly for this fight and he got his ass kicked.

To be fair the sport of MMA. Vaseline does not belong in the body and the corner man seem to not only did it once. He kept doing it until the commissoner ran up to the ring to stop it. Now really I don't know if you can say that he forgot to wipe his hands but really I just think he didn't give a crap he knew it was on his hands. He was clearly rubbing his back and shoulder and not tapping it.

On sirus radio I hear GsP would do a rematch, if Penn really is going to file, then he should take the rematch with GSP. Make it free on spike. I'm going to assume BJ will seriously get hurt if they do it again.

vaseline makes a huge difference J. boxers put it on their face so punches slip off and reduce cuts and prevent water from going in their eyes.
The nurse was rubbing his body with it i wouldnt say slathering.
Vaseline is SLIPPERY AS HECK. Unfair is unfair however you put it.

It was unfair that the nevada state athletic commission let BJ Penn actually fight GSP.

Anybody think GSP will go up in weight to fight Silvia? If you look at who he trains with (Marquatt, Evans, Levin) then u can see he might be able to keep up with "the spider" as long as he doesnt get knocked the F out.

I think he will. I hope he does. It would be a great fight. I'm not sure GSP can hang with him but I would sure want to be in the arena for that fight.
