following!

I saw this on one-all others fine at that point- of my fish, QT'd him and he died in 2 days.

Came home from vacation and saw all my fish had this.

However, it was in varying cases
Yellow tang looked like he was covered in the acne/pimples
Sailfin- had a smattering of pimples on his fins and a few on his body
Hippo only had one on his nose.

Also, when I came home my tank was much colder than it should have been. The heater shut off mistakenly and the house heat was off while I was away. Tank was at 65 degrees.

I changed the heater out and when i woke up (5 hrs later) the
Yellow tang only has a few but they are not easily noticeable
Hippo's pimple is much smaller
Sailfin has faded to only 1 or 2 that I can barely see

The only thing I did was to change temp.

But the first fish did die.

Actually, all of the fish I got from 1 source died from one disease or another that I had not seen before.

I have the Mardel fish disease chart and it looks like Ich or Chilodonella/Oodinium (parasite attacking weakneses)

The latter in the chart is said to look like pimples.

lymph usually accumulates on the fins doesnt it? at this point im not ruling anything out, all three of the fish are in qt at the moment, any cure ideas or other ideas to what it could be. a friend (mattyo) thought it may be a type of fluke that burrowed its head into the fish causing the lump affect they give off.

my achilles tang used to have something like that when it was getting stressed out by the powder blue. it would come and go within minutes so it wasn't ich. it also wasn't as bad as the pic of your puffer. got rid of the powder blue and the condition disappeared. no other fish in the tank exhibits the same symptom. every now and then i would see the pimples appearing while cleaning the glass with the piranha magnet glass cleaner. apparently it can see its own reflection on the wet side of the magnet cleaner. it would try to attack the cleaner. i guess its own reflection stresses itself out. the pimples would go away a few minutes after i finished with cleaning the glass and removed the cleaner.
