Why is one rock different then entire tank? Green moss?

These pics are just one section of my tank (220). A few months back I bought some live rock from a fellow reefer. One of these rocks is the one with the algae Blenny sittin on it. Couple questions. One, why did this ONE rock start to grow this green moss on it? No other rocks in tank have it, as you can see by the surrounding rocks. It's not hair algae. It's low and carpet like. It looks kind of like moss that grows at the base of a tree. Is it bad? Should I remove the rock and scrub it off or should I maybe move it to my sump in the basement? Do you guys think this is good or bad algae?

Not being sarcastic. I don't understand your question. Mine is, what type of algae? It does not budge with a brush, it's very tough. It's not hair or bryopsis, it's like a carpet and very tough so I'm simply asking if anyone knows what it might be. My parameters aren't off. That's my question. No other rock in tank, except this one that came from another reefer's tank looks like this.

green and red cyano? Try increasing the flow in that area maybe...just guessing tho.

Thats the thing. It's not cyano because it would brush off easily. This stuff doesn't budge. I just tried before I took the pic and it doesn't budge.

tough to see in picture could it be sponge?
I dont think it's a flow issue I have seen cyno, hair alage grown on screens of a power head.
if his parameters were off all the rocks and glass would have alage on it

If you plant seeds in only 1 part of the garden, that's where plants will grow. That rock evidently had "spores/seeds" causing localized growth. From the pics, it's hard to say what it is.

seems like that one and the one to the top left where on top of the pile based on color. the others seem to have been base rock considering that they're white. eventually every rock that is in contact with the light will start growing stuff.

Yes, only a few rocks were base rock, from BRS. The rest was all live rock. Since the post I began using Special Blend and added a strong clean up crew and all algae is gone and coraline is beginning to appear.
