Collecting in mexico

Anybody know the correct proceedure needed when trying to obtain live marine life from Mexico? I go to Mexico on dive trips about every 3 months. I would love to collect a small amount of critters on my trips (leagaly). Im not interested in Coral as I believe in trading tank propogated frags, just inverts like pistol shrimp, hermits, slugs, etc. I also may be interested in collection a small amount of fish. Im sure their is some permit I could get from the Mexican Gov but Im just not sure on how to go about it and who to contact.

From speaking with Steve Robinson who has a collection station down there, the process of getting permits from the Mexican government can take YEARS and cost you thousands of $$$. Not worth it for a hobby collector. Even if you did get the permits from Mexico you'd have to get import permits from the US and pay to have shipments cleared through customs and Fish & Wildlife.
