OK, I need to know the wholesale price of these two things are to figure out how much money each tank would be in the store. the first filter is aquaclear powerfilter mini costs, and the second is the penguin biowheel, both the 125 and 330. I need these prices for my business plan that I need for my homeschool project, I also need the price for ten gallon tanks, you can email me if you want, thanks. John

Or , you can just do a little reverse math. The owner of the shop I used to work for had me do the pricing (on our salties, but still, his method was applied to EVERYTHING). It went like this, "Ok, just double it, and then add some." :lol:

How much is some? because if that is the case for the LFS, to just doubel it, I am already getting alot of the stuff for holesale. Like the bio wheel filter 330 is 25.99 on the net... at the store, it is 54.99 plus tax. TY, John

Here are the prices from my wholesale distributor, one of the largest in the country.

Penguin 330 Biowheel Filter $31.03
Penguin 125 Biowheel Filter $18.71
10 Gallon AGA Aquarium $6.90
AquaClear Mini-filter $14.28

Large Internet stores do not pay the same price as your LFS usually does. They are buying in larger quantities i.e. multiple cases of each as opposed to the small guy who may get one or two of a particular item. Often the price they get from the manufacturer is the same as our distributor is paying from the manufacturer. Where you see similar pricing in store and online is when the LFS is buying similar quantities or there is no distributor and the LFS must buy direct.

wow, that is almost the same price as the E-biz. Except the 10 gal. Humh, gonna have to think it over about starting to support the LFS insted of the larger e-biz. and in some cases, it is CHEAPER to get it off of the larger e-biz, like the mini aquaclear is only 12.99 plus s&h compared to the 14.28 for the wholesaler. Keep in mind shipping. My distributor delivers the stuff to my door each week in one of their own trucks. You will pay shipping costs from the e-business.

Usually if the order is over $300-500 you will not pay any shipping from the wholesaler. Orders under that ammount are usually shipped via UPS/Fedex if they even bother with them.
