Well, it should be getting close to that time for a new AMDA Board of Directors to be voted in. Anything exciting coming up on the ballot?

It's official. Burton Patrick is the new AMDA president. Morgan Lidster is Vice. Bruce Davidson and Liz Harris are also on the BOD. I wish them well.

Well, I guess Burton is definitely better than a certain wholesaler trying to take over by an owner becoming president.

Or is this a nice lil April Fools joke?

JT,

It's quite a shame that you didn't see the true picture of the "so-called" wholesaler which had a vision that Amda could actually become the association it was designed for. It was never about any "take-over"....and you should be embarrassed for even thinking that this wasn't about the better good of Amda...it was never about any one wholesaler.

The goals of the "so-called" Wholesaler were to bring all of industry into Amda in order to promote it to the industry through a collective group of wholesalers and dry good manufactures. Industry involvement was only a short term goal before turning the association back over to the dealers which it represents. This "so-called" wholesaler is thinking above and beyond it's responsibilities when considering taking on such a project as this. I know they were disappointed that they didn't become elected.

The new officers look very strong collectively and I personally hope that they make some strides this year. Congradulations to all of those that will be working and supporting the group.

Best regards,

Eric

AMDA was created for the independent retailer. It's a retailer association for the brick and mortor pet/fish store. Certainly not for fly by night, here today gone tomorrow once all the cherries have been popped, internet stores and definitely not for power and money hungry wholesalers trying to take over the industry.

Hell, I don't care, take over AMDA if you want. AMDA hasn't done squat in years and it certainly wouldn't with you or Scott at the helm. AMDA is dead, it just hasn't been buried yet.
