Move to Fiji??
This may be of interest, I do not know if this is the right forum to put this notice out and apologize if I have stepped out of line. However, with all the interested hobbyist who read this forum the right person is probably out there.
Walt Smith International is seeking a qualified person to help manage one of the facilities in the South Pacific. Qualifications and experience should include the following:
Personality and disposition:
•A passion for the hobby and a good understanding of the products this industry is currently seeking from the South Pacific region (Tonga and Fiji).
•The ability to recognize healthy and desirable corals.
•The commitment to environmental issues related to our industry and the determination to follow through with proper reef management procedures already established by our company.
•The ability to communicate with villagers and third world country ideals, maintaining the understanding that we are considered guest in their country.
•A strong level head with a commitment to deal with sometimes difficult situations with a smile.
•Accept the idea of living in a foreign country with different customs than ours for an extended period of time.
•Preferably single with no children or have the support of your spouse moving to a third world country (not for everybody).
Skills:
•Have worked at some level of the industry before involved with coral and mini-reef systems.
•A good knowledge of a working system and water movement.
•Be a certified diver.
•Have boat experience, preferably on the ocean.
You will train directly under myself to quickly gain the experience necessary. There are many facets to moving into a foreign country but also many rewards such as having the coral reef as your back yard.
We are mostly looking for an individual to look after the livestock in cooperation with the team we already have in place. Diving and exploring new areas, quality control and different product discoveries is of our highest concern.
