I'm too lazy to dig up the old thread, but I just saw pictures of the same thing that was done to the parrots on gouramis.

the people have a choice, however the fish do not. although, i imagine that a tattooed fish in a "happy, well kept tank" would be much happier and better off than a non-tattooed fish in a poorly kept tank........

I just saw a tankful of these ie. giant gouramis, tinfoil barbs and ...parrot cichlids.
Just when you think the red parrot cichlid couldn't be any more of an abomination.....
Sometimes the tatooing is upside down on one side of the fish....suggesting the tatooers are not into English as a second language.

Yeah I thought I saw a picture of one with the text upside down but I thought I was simply looking at a reflection of one of the fish in the bottom glass.
