Well, I've about had enough with the power trips that Righty gets on when threads start turning in a direction that he personally does not agree with. I cringed the day he became an administrator here becuase of how he conducted himself on ReefCentral and RDO is now clearly heading down the same path as RC. Soon, you will start seeing threads disappear entirely.

Righty recently sent me a PM asking me to stop signing my posts with the various "- Uncle" references. Those who know me well, know that I've been using this tag for over 8 years on all the forums and reefkeepers and reef-l mailing lists. Asking me to do this is like asking the Lone Ranger to stop using silver bullets.

This will be my last post in the forum and possibly all of RDO. RDO certainly isn't the site it could be and I blame current administration, and poor choices for forum moderators, for this. However, I'm sure my departure will make some folks feel better.

Not for nothing but if that's true that's pretty sad. Why should how someones signs their post matter to a site admin? It's not like it's offensive, I see much more offensive stuff in the "sump", nor does it appear to be breaking any rules.

I've never personally had any problems on here but I do admit I see the curtain coming down soon. Such a shame.

I did not ask JT to stop posting 'Uncle' references, I asked him to remove a recent one that was intentionally fooled the auto censor. I have no problem with the 'uncle' tags as long as they don't violate the UA. JT informed me that he types his sig, and I asked him not to type it again, referring to what fooled the auto censor, not the 'uncle' stuff. I can understand how he misunderstood what I was asking, and its too bad he chose to leave instead of asking for clarification.

I've seen a few that went a bit to far JT. Not to the point of kicking you off though (not that he was kicked off, just asked to not post sig's that fool the UA censor)

I think this site started turning around recently when the Admin/mod change over happenned. I personally like Bookfish's, Righty's, Len's, Matt's, etc, etc, managing styles. I doubt they'll outright delete a thread, they've all expressed their displeasure in that concept at various times.

Nothing is ever deleted on R.O (Keep that in mind if you want to start throwing flames). I had to edit JT's outgoing post on this thread as he once again bypassed the censors using an unforgivable word in his signoff. Righty did nothing improperly and acted as a moderator should. JT feels like there's some sort of attempt to drag him down, and I'm sorry for it and unaware of it, but posts like this one (pre-edit) are wholly against the user agreement.
