I am in the process of moving to Thailand and I want to take a few of my rarer fish with me like my Platinum Clowns. Since I am exporting these fish for personal use do I need to obtain an export license? What other permits, licenses will I need to take them with me?

Hi, I would first contact Fish & Game and ask them what they know. You may have to contact federal Fish & Wildlife as well. If they don't know then they may be able to set you in the right direction.

(state) Fish and Game wil not be much help at all as export isn't their ball of wax for the most part.

I would also contact the country your moving to and see what restrictions their Customs and Ag dept. have. I highly suspect you will not be able to do it.

Thanks for the info.

I have already researched Thailand's regulations and it should be a problem getting the fish into the country.
I just wanted to see if I needed to get an export license and permit to get them out of the US. I will contact US Fish and Wildlife and see what they say.

you do need a lic that will cost you $55 +124.00 for the export permit. If they are tank raised forget the 124.00
