The rock in question is on the sand supporting too much to rearrange so I'm looking for some way to do it without taking it out, I figure some sort of trap could work though I'm really not sure how to go about it right.
I always wondered what they sounded like. The little bugger evacuated his hole in the 5 minutes it took me to set up a siphon to suck him out... what is the best way to trap this guy?
Having trouble with my 250 watt HQI retrofit setup for my 65 gallon display-
I've got the sockets in as tight as I feel I can get it without breaking the bulb sliding it in - but the tiny vibrations from the sump pump seem to wiggle the bulb just enough to make it slide out a hair from the...

Bend the handle on a regular square aquarium net back 15-45 degrees, affix a blunted razor blade on the inside of the net flush with the net's wire frame. I'd try epoxy first. Blue is tank, black is net, red is razor. Depending on the size of your net you'll be able to get all but the lower...
Since the return from my sump will be post bubble trap I should not need to worry about micro bubbles coming into the fuge - and will use the nozzle as a jet and keep the exit baffle to protect my critters from the overflow.
The display tank is a 105 reef ready Oceanic with a single built in...
This is what I'm thinking of for my fuge. Drawn below is a Baffle/tray on the entrance to moderate the force of incoming water; one large compartment for some sand, rock, and macros; a baffle on left to isolate the overflow back to the sump. Bubble control will be in the sump.
Is it worth it...
Moving the sump to the basement and adding a refugium. I would like to save some space and possibly the use of another pump by having the tanks above one another. Diagram is pretty self explanatory... first off, will this work? Next.. is there an easier way to safeguard from power failures and...
Emerald crabs worked well for me when I noticed bubble algae in my 20 gallon, but with every crab you should be cautious. All crabs are scavengers and if adequate food is not provided for the amount in your tank don’t be surprised if they start to pick on corals, inverts (I once watched an...
