  1. DIY Metal Halide Problems!!!

Oh....I forgot to mention, the ballast was $130 shipped. I just got done talking with the electrical supplier and they think the wiring is wrong that I have done. They talked about having it wired in series instead of parallel. Problem is that i tried that and it didn't work. Mark
  2. DIY Metal Halide Problems!!!

I guess that I will give the ballast supplier a call and see what's up. This is really frustrating. Could it be the bulb? I noticed that if I put the bulb in the left and power up, it will start. Then if I put the same bulb over in the right, it will be the only one that powers up. This...
  3. DIY Metal Halide Problems!!!

It will only fire one bulb and then after it is lit, it will cause the ignitor in the other bulb to glow and then after 5-10 minutes, the lit one turns off and the other starts. It is like musical chairs. Haven't tried leaving it like this all day...not sure if it would help. Mark
  4. DIY Metal Halide Problems!!!

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid of that. I have had nothing but a troubles so far. When all the kinks are worked out, it will be great, but till then I will continue to growl. I guess I'll contact the company then and ask them. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know. Mark

Now that my Ev-180 has broken in....it works great. No adjustments, just works really well. Pulls out tons of stuff. It does make you wonder if it is going to work during the break in period however....once it starts, it only gets better. My previous euroreef was easy to setup, but I had...
  7. aquaC skimmer

Just put a Ev-180 on a 125gal reef...at first didn't do too much, but after breaking in and getting the right level, it works like a charm. Haven't had to mess with it at all. Quiet as can be. I had a euro-reef previously and it is definiately easy to setup and maintain. Almost too easy for...

Well my skimmer decided to kick in....it is awesome! Didn't expect it to grab so much stuff! It is great....had a haze to the water(slight) and now it is crystal clear after about 2hrs. WOW!
  9. Does anyone use the new AquaC EV120 or 180???

Just got my 180, manual says just as long as it is below 8" in the sump then all is well. Haven't had it working yet...still breaking-in. Mark
  10. Aqua C EV180 ?'s

I have the Mag9 throttle back about 1/4 to get the water level where they say to....seems like quite a reduction in power/waterflow. Haven't seen anything yet.....up to 2 weeks is quite a while to wait. Hopefully it will start soon. mark
  11. Aqua C EV180 ?'s

Just bought the new EV180 and attached a Mag9 to it....have throttled it back a little, but after 2 days, nothing is being produced. Does it usually take this long? Does anyone have any suggestions on it. How high up is your foam in the column when you started out. Suggestions?? Mark
