  1. AMIRACLE overflow is noisy

Bob, A burp tube is just a length of air tubing slid down into the overflow drain line. Cut a length of air tube about a foot long and try it, you may have to move it around to find the right depth into the drain line. May not work in every case.
  2. AMIRACLE overflow is noisy

I found that a burp tube quieted my amiracle down and allowed it to drain normally. Have you tried that yet?
  3. --= is maxijet 1200 upgrade worth it? =--

If you don't want to mess with changing the intake just put a screw type air valve on the end of the air line and that should clear up the chugging. You can adjust how much air comes in and tune it where you like.
  4. Protien Skimming

Roach if your skimmer is enough to handle your bio load then it's fine. A year ago people had great things to say about the Remora Pro, including bigtank. Now every time I open a skimmer thread there he is bashing it. What happened?
  5. Who hangs their lights?

hmmm I see a valve lurking there in the foreground... I keep bent valves as momentos. Sorry, off topic. Yes, don't forget to hang the lights before setting up the tank if possible. I have learned that lesson now.
  6. Who hangs their lights?

I have a hanging canopy with 3 vho's, 48". Only tricky thing is having the tank centered under the ceiling studs that you will screw the suspension rings into. I ended up draining my tank 2/3'rds empty so I could scoot it over a little to make it all line up just right. Other than that pretty...
  7. Oceanic wet/dry conversion?

Ok I see what you're saying. Actually I was planning on pulling the whole thing out alltogether to make room for a skimmer. I've also heard of someone converting the trickle filter shell to a refugium, they screened off the openings with something to keep the sand in.
  8. MJ1200 on Bakpak2

The mj1200 should slide right into the cpr tube just like the Rio, a little tighter fit but it will stay. Premium Aq does sell the venturi adapter last I looked, I scavanged the mj off an old seaclone. I have had varied results with this, I would definetly reccomend getting a screw type air...
  9. Got the crap shocked out of me last night, it was worth it.

hmmmm.... sounds fun, I must try this sometime. How far do you fly back again?
  10. Oceanic wet/dry conversion?

jimbo, are you saying the trickle filter has to be cut out? I thought the whole unit was just sitting there and could be pulled right out. I am in the same situation, tired of no room for a good skimmer.
  11. Oklahoman reefers?

Hey don't want you to feel all alone! I'm from the Tulsa area but am residing in lonely Kansas now. I have seen a few people from OKC, but I think you're best bet is the Dallas area. I suspect that most of the other Oklahomans out there probably won't catch this thread before it's moved on...
  12. Remora Pro skimmer sucks!

I have a Remora Pro that I've used on a 29 and resides mainly on a 70. It skims great on the 70, doesn't produce much skimmate from the 29. (makes sense) Also, I think the spray injection tends to produce a more "splattered" kind of skimmate (stuck to the lid and sides more), so it may look...
  13. Replacing the Rio on a Bakpak

It should be a straight swap. I tried a maxijet 1200 w/venturi on my bakpak and eventually put the Rio back on. I suspected I wasn't getting as fine bubbles and had too high of a flow through rate. 900 might work better. It works ok though, results probably vary. I wondered if anyone had...
