  1. Skimmer SWC Xtreme 160 Cone

Same for me, I've had mine for a few weeks now and its running great. Good foam head and pulls out lots of dark skim. I highly recommend this skimmer, its quiet, easy to set up, and breaks in quick.
  2. Salt Mix Survey

I use NSW but that wasn't an option, I guess I should vote oceanic
  3. 2010 Spring Swap pics...

New baby at home; I get grief when I go to LIRA meetings, let alone go to Manhattan for the day :lol2:
  4. Water from ocean

I get my water from the bay side; obviously I'm further east but if you are smart about where you get your water there are no problems with it. Just go to a spot that has good daily flushing and try to collect at high tide. Also, wait a few days after rain or bad weater for runoff to be flushed...
  5. 2010 Spring Swap pics...

Great pictures, one year I will have to make the trip out to the swap.
  6. LIRA Meeting iPhoto Video

Video is really well put together, I saw myself twice, Haha.
  7. some lfs i visited in the past few weeks

I'm not a fan of Aqua Hut, their prices may be really good, but their livestock is near death almost all the time I have seen them. I question who/how they get ther live stock from. Country Critters is ok, but its a little dark and dirty in the fish room. They do have stuff other places dont...
  8. substiute for filter socks

I use filter socks to help with micro bubbles, would the mesh bag work as well?
  9. sick tang?

How big is the tank, what is in it, do you have a QT or hospital tank?
  10. bi color parrot.. Will he eat corals?

I've heard (and seen) people keeping quoys parrotfish (Scarus quoyi) in a reef tank.
  11. Long Island sound snails

I had both periwinkles and mud snails in my temperate system, but didn't keep them for my mixed reef when I switched. I figured they would be reef safe, didn't think they could handle the temp for very long. Good to know that they can.
  12. Long Island sound snails

I'm guessing it was on the bay/sound side of the beach. They arn't a sign of anything bad, but their numbers will fluctuate according to the tide and availability of food. As far as being in a reef tank, they really wouldn't survive very long at those temperatures. However, I have kept local...
  13. Tank raised frags for the Swap at Atlantis - Greg's LPS/SPS/softies

Great stuff Greg, everything is looking nice, thanks.
  14. Frags for the swap.

Will you be bringing the cardinals regardless? I'm on the fence about one right now, I would decide once see them (and what else I buy).
  15. Frags for the swap.

I'm guessing the cardinals are not big enough to know male or female.
