Three - 10 gallon planted freshwater, 38 gallon FOWLR, and a 30 gallon with nothing in it yet.

I think a lot of it has to do with my past experience with freshwater. I think it's a lot easier to maintain equilibrium with a planted freshwater tank than a reef tank. Freshwater setups don't require sumps, refugiums, skimmers, etc. Hell, I'm pretty sure the filter on my planted tank...

I don't think I've done a water change in my planted tank for about 2 1/2 months, just regular top-offs. Then again, its got way more plants and a cleanup crew.

I'd rely more on live plants to keep the water clean, but then again I like my heavily planted tanks. :D

Free stuff is always sweet. My grandparent's silver dollar finally died (after about 8 years), and now they're giving me their 30 gal, along with all the accessories they've collected over the years. New planted tank!

Thanks. Would there be any advantages to going with 14k bulbs over 10k w/actinics? I'm not too informed about reef lighting, which is why I'm waiting to upgrade that... I was thinking yesterday about a tang, and I realized that there wouldn't be enough room in there with a pair of clowns, so...
