Just watched a show last night and the name of it was "killer Algae" it was all about this same exact plant and how bad it really is. Do a GIS and check out how invasive and destructive this junk is and then do what ever you have to to destroy it.

Ineed this for a 6 foot tank. The cost of a hood and retro's would be around 375 and not cover the entire tank..my DIY will cost around225 and fit the entire tank.
I'm building my hood and need to know if this is the right way to go.
going to run 4 - 54w T5'2. 2 per ballast. Ballasts are going to be Workhorse 5's from Fulham. I read that I will need shunted T5 sockets for these bulbs and ballasts..is this correct? Also..Where do I connect a ground wire...
