I never really had a lot of the purple stuff until the one day I decided to use a razor blade and scrape the little bit off the sides of the tank. It's been explosive ever since. It's a PITA now, actually.. grows on the front toooo quickly!

From what I've read and seen, I would have to suggest different species.. However.. I'm not positive I would keep two in that size tank.. others may disagree. FWIW.
