  1. Help with 90 gallon FOWLR system

Hey thanks for the insite, I do have a corner overflow and it runs 2 skimmers, both Rio 600 driven a Bakpak and a 4" skimmer in the sump. I only have 2 Aquaclear 802 powerheads for water movement along with the return water from the sump. I think I do leave my lights on for too long sometimes...
  2. Metal Halide Question

They are single ended bulbs, I think I will be building a false/open canopy before turning on the lights for the first time, until then I'll keep running the old flourecents. thanks Brent

Thanks for your input, maybe I'd be better of to pull the sockets out of the pendants and buy a reflector and put them in a hood. Thanks again!
  5. Metal Halide Question

Good Morning, well over the weekend I found a guy that had 2 175watt Metal Halide Pendant lights and ballasts for a great deal, so I will be using these rather than buying a Power Compact fixture or replacing my florescent bulbs. I do have a few new questions however, I was reading in a book...

I'll have to check the tds tonight, It has been reading low the last few times I checked it and I just replaced all cartriges in the RO/DI unit. The snails are, and I'll probably butcher the names, about 15 Asterea and 5 Nassarius. I had double the amount but the hermits I don't have anymore...

Hi, I have a 90 gallon FOWLR and currently I only have 160 Watts of light with marine aquarium standard style florecents. Well as I spend more time researching this hobby I find out I'm doing more and more wrong!! I always just mixed my water and salt minutes before using it. Now that I have been researching RO/DI units I find out that the majority have some sort of container that there water is mixed a long time...
  12. which RO/DI unit?

Well I'm stuck between these brands. Spectapure, AquaFx, and Reefpure. does it really matter? the Reef pure is the least expensive since Green Mariner pinted out that they were on sale. Are they a quality unit? I can get a 5 stage 50gpd with TDS meter for cheaper than a spectrapure 4 stage...
  13. sorry still more questions

  15. RO/DI questions

Well even my wife is fed up with the way the tank looks using well water. There's always too much hair algae and my cleanup crew can't keep up with the glass so I end up scrubbing alot. Anyway, From what I understand an RO/DI unit should majorly help if not cure my problem so I have a few...
