sorry, no light will not kill them. There was another post about albino aiptasia. They will go white translucent w/o a light source. I transfered a piece of LR to my quarantine tank and the aiptasia was still there but it just lost it's color.

DONT DO IT! I had the same smart idea on my 175MH canopy. The glass mirror overheated and cracked. Luckily, it did not fall into the tank. But, I learned my lesson.

I have an established 50 gallon tank. It worked for me as stated on the bottle. I used it as the directions state and my ick was gone. No harmful effect on the corals (mushrooms and LPS).

Anyone here tried sodium hydroxide to kill aiptasia? I've tried peppermint shrimps and boiling water injections with no sucess. I dont want to add any proprietary chemicals (i.e. kill-aiptasia) or invest in livestock that will starve after those bad boys are gone. Also, what are some sources...
