  1. Wilting Xenias...HELP!!!

Thanks to everyone for responding! All your advice and information has been invaluable. Just a quick update, my Xenias are still very limp, but they look like they are starting to get a little better. Still, they are a far cry than what they used to look like. To answer brandonberry and...
  2. Wilting Xenias...HELP!!!

Thank you. I will definitely take that into consideration.
  3. Wilting Xenias...HELP!!!

Hmmmm...that's food for thought. Maybe I'll try feeding my tank more frequently. Thanks for the links!!!
  4. Wilting Xenias...HELP!!!

I have 2-24W Compact Fluorescents (JBJ Combos) with a 106 GPH pump--standard fixings for the 12 gallon Nano Cube Deluxe. I only use RO water, so phosphates should be obsolete, but I can still check for them if you think it's a major factor. I've been meaning to invest in a phosphate test...
  5. Wilting Xenias...HELP!!!

Hello, I have a Silver Branch Pumping Xenia in my 12 gallon Nano Cube since February and at first it flourished. It split in several different colonies and expanded to about five times its original size. My two Percula Clownfish were even hosting it, which did cause a brief wilt, but they...
  6. Red Sea Max--it is really worth it?

I've been looking to upgrade my 12gal Nano Cube to something a little bit bigger. I'm torn between the 24gal Aquapod, a plain bare-bones glass aquarium, or the new (well maybe not THAT new) 34gal Red Sea Max Reef Aquarium. I can get it for $799.99 plus 5.5% WI sales tax minus my 33% employee...
  7. NanoCube questions

Thank you very much for your suggestion, I will certainly keep that in mind. After reading several testimonials about the bio-balls, I already started to consider alternatives.
  8. Clownfish + Xenia = Bad News???

I only use iodine once in a very great while. Otherwise I just religiously do water changes like you said. My Xenias are still doing great, by the way. I hope they stay that way.
  9. Clownfish + Xenia = Bad News???

Thanks so much for the feedback!!! Just an update, I did put in a few drops of Julian Sprung's Iodone Concentrate to see if that would help at all, and my Xenia is looking good again. My Percs still host it, but they don't seem to have any adverse effect on it (whew!).
  10. Lights for a 12gal nanoreef

Metal halides, even a single, would be a bit too much for your softies. I would go with T-5's myself. A good rule of thumb for lighting for a soft coral/LPS setup is anything between 3-5 watts per gallon. Good luck!
  11. Clownfish + Xenia = Bad News???

Hi everyone! I come seeking advice today. I have a 12gal Nano Cube, which I have had set up since last Christmas. Three months ago a bought a Silver Branch Pumping Xenia and it has done very well since then. Yesterday, I acquired two Percs and they took to my Xenia immediately after...
  12. NanoCube questions

I have the 12g Nano Cube Deluxe myself. So far so good (knock on wood). The surface skimmer does work well, but every so often I need to get it re-situated, as it has fallen off on occasion. I do not have live rock rubble to put in my back chamber, so I'm stuck with the bioballs, but I...
