  1. to hermit or not to hermit?

    I don't like crabs. Use all snails - i.e. astrea and nassarius; magarita snail; troch. Only crab to consider is scarlet hermit - less agressive

    switch to Oceanic salt - mixes a lot easier and has more calcium than IO

  4. Do I need a powerhead??

    3 or 4 minijet 606 i.e. 1 in each corner. Definitely use something - so you have good flow in the tank

  5. A couple of easy questions

    Re setting up - use live rock(1.5 - 2 lbs/gal) and live sand. Use r/o or distilled water - Cycle the tank with it for 3-4 weeks then add clean up crew - then 4 or more weeks later start adding corals ( get adequate lighting i.e for a 20 gal high- light system for 20 high This one... 24" ORBIT...

  6. instant calcium loss

    Switch to Oceanic Salt. It mixes better and has more calcium than IO
