It's a young moon jellyfish. There was a center near where I found it that gave me the ID. Thanks for the other replies trying to help.

While walking by the San Francisco Bay, I came upon these little things that a friend tells me are jellyfish. Is she correct and, if so, what is the name of this one? They were just a little smaller than the picture below. Thanks for an identification or pointers about where to go to find out...
