I had the same issue in my 75 gallon tank. I got a cleaner crew from Aquaruimdepot.com and they have various packages and affordable. For the mean time try to do it yourself and pull off the hairy Algea slowly.

Thank you. I did just that and it still kept locked up. The original pump was done. By the end of the day I took the skimmer to a friend and he costomized it by changing the pump. Hope that it continues working.
