I thought I heard somewhere that reef organisms can not see red lighting - is this true? If so, would I be able to illuminate my tank at night with red lights (like incandescent party lights) and watch some of the night life? Thanks!

Just tearing down my freshwater tank, I have a lot of "lace" rock. Can this be used as "base" rock or to build my reef? I am planning on adding live rock to seed the lace, but I didn't know if there was anything bad about the lace rock. Thanks! [ August 02, 2001: Message edited by: jmisztal ]

My ignorance is showing already - what are the meanings of the acronyms of DSB and LR - I can only come up with "deep sand bed" and "live rock", but I want to be sure I understand.... Thanks!
