Pat, the white german endcaps will fit. They extend the lenth of the bulb about the same as the black ones you are using.

Wazzel, that's the waterproof german endcaps. In my opinion that is the only option.

They really are not to be used with VHO Bulbs. Ditto Wazzel. I have heard of horror stories to include a house burning down.

How did you fit the 48" inside the canopy that is also 48 "?

What about those rubber pads you see at restaurants in the kitchens that have holes in them. That might be a better option. Oh well, talk to your dad. I'm not looking for any freebees, I just want to find something that I can buy for vibration/noise dampening.
