I just touched the anemone and he doesn't feel sticky, he did eat a piece of shrimp this morning, was able to hold onto it. Water all seems fine after testing it yesterday, also anemone opens up really big during the day and closes up at night. The percula wants no business with anemone...

I am testing it with Salifert's PH Kit adding 5ML of water and adding 4 drops of the PH soultion. It seems like it is rather blue after testing, instead of green which indicates the reading over 8.4 Maybe the test kit is old, since I got it from previous owner.

I just got through testing my water after purchasing tank last weekend. The tank was set up for 5 years prior to me getting it. The PH is 8.3, salinity 1.025, ammonia 0, nitrites 0, calcium 420 and alkalinity is 7.0. As far as calcium and alkalinity goes, are these numbers good for a reef...

I just purchased some additional shells for the hermits as they grow. Got them from local craft store. Boiled them for 15 minutes. Your right the 5 turbo snails are doing most of the work/ Thanks for the insight!

Thanks...at least I know the skimmer is doing its job! I know its not the best on the market...down the road I will find one that will fit on my tank.

I have a seaclone 100 protein skimmer for my 75 gal. reef, it was the only hang-on I could find that would fit the system 2 acrylic sea clear tank. I am not sure what the product should look like in the collection cup. The skimmer has been on the tank for 5 days, the tank has been established...
