  1. Breeding cleaner Shrimp

Please don´t  It was produced by the heath of the discussion,we can blame Kervina for that  .Anyway Fernando is a perfect portuguese name,so he won´t complain. :) I also called you "THE"Andy. My bad habit of not correcting what I write... I didn´t know you were browsing this forum.Good...
  2. Breeding cleaner Shrimp

Kervina, This is not the place to engage in an academic debate about the self fertilization or sperm storage of Lysmata. However: What aquarists need to know is that it will be a lose of time to expect that a lone shrimp will produce fertile eggs.It just won´t happen.Ever. While I had seen...
  3. Breeding cleaner Shrimp

Kervina, Take my word,Lysmata DON´T store sperm.Simoes paper was wrong about that and other references stem from it.
  4. Breeding cleaner Shrimp

Yes,Lysmata shrimp are hermaphrodite. They lay eggs right after molting which are fertilized by the other partner. So it is perfectly normal that both of your shrimp are carrying eggs. They can not self-fertilize nor store sperm.Breeding them is easy, they never stop producing eggs every 2 weeks...

  9. Hybrid Clowns

Well,I checked proaquatix hybrid and I fully agree with Martin.Hybridazing wild species is strongly discouraged for many biological, ecological and even ethical reasons.Yet it has always been a common practice when the hybrids due to their strange or beautiful features find a good share of the...
  10. SpawningBlueRibbonEEl

You are right Oceanarus.I see that Eleonard never posted again in his thread. It would help to know what made him think the fish was spawning in the first place. Most fish show external fertilization and at least two are needed to make it.
