My tank cabinet is fairly low profile (unfortulately) and can only be a max of 18 inches tall. The remora can be sized accordingly without huge performance decrease. A normal circular tube-type skimmer would need to be TALL for the effective skimming area I need. An 18" skimmer wouldn't yeald...
Just because the remora is a HOB, doesn't mean it HAS to be IN the tank. It can hang on the sump.. Which gets it OUT of the tank which clutters the tank less.
I don't want powerheads in the tank either.. which is the reason for the Mag 2400.

I'm ready to purchase the first load of stuff for my 55gal aquarium. I have around 300 bucks I can allocate for equipment. I figure this can get me everything I need except lighting. Lighting will have to wait as I am saving up for Halides (rather than upgrading later).

I called the Home Depot that I was going to get the sand at prior to leaving this morning JUST TO MAKE SURE. They sold their LAST BAG of Old Castle Play Sand!!! Pissed me off SOOO BAD! Anyways, I'm sorry for the dissapointment people. I will try to furthur locate some more.. Maybe next...
Anybody in Oregon/Washingon want some southdown or old castle aragonite play sand?? I'll be taking my pickup to Idaho on saturday to get some and was curious if anybody wanted to get a couple bags. They are 50lb bags and are around 4.50 a bag give or take.. I'll charge an even 10 per bag to ship...
