I wanted to make sure i am testing my calcium properly in my reef tank. I have an API test kit. I wanted to know if I only count the drops from solution bottle #2 to determine the calcium level?

I just have a deep sea 2 bulb t-5. But I want to make my fowlr into a reef tank.

Would running a chiller cost as much as running the AC all day during summer months?

Honestly I rather not have to use a chiller if I don't have to. And replacing bulb may not make sense if there is a fixture you don't have to. I am just looking for the best option for coral growth. I rather spend the money now.
