A while ago, we dosed our tank with that yellow powder to treat red cyanobacteria and our green star polyp shriveled up for a few weeks. If your coral was ok before adding that to the water, I'd tend to think that the yellow powder was the culprit.

I agree that it'll probably cost a few bucks to rehab them. Putting that $$ toward a completely healthy specimen seems like a safer bet, IMHO.

MASSIVE basement sump/fuge/frag tank?! I thought we were going with a smaller sump/fuge under the tank in the LR? <sigh> Must be that "I always want it bigger" guy thing! :roll:

how much live rock is in your 300 gallon tank? this is a FOWLR right? what is causing these nitrates? over feeding? i wouldn't be too worried about changing 30% of the water. i've heard of people doing larger water changes than that with no trouble. where are you getting your water from thus far?
