I was one of the unfortunate people to go without power in Charlotte, NC for 5 days after the ice storm 2 weeks ago. I was able to keep things alive in my 90 gallon reef tank for 2 of the 5 days. Once the temp in the house reached 55 degrees, most everything in the tank was dead. Apart from...
You might be on to something Golden. It is dark green in color, grows feriously, covers everything, and comes off really easily. So if it is cyano what can I do? Does it have anything to do with the RO/DI system? Will additional water changes help?
I have 4x96 watt PC's on my 75 gallon (2 of which are actinic and I like the dark blue color). However, I have also been having a terrible time with the bulbs buring out. I seem to only be able to keep them about 4 months and then they burn out or crack! Some suggetions that have been given...
Is it possible to not get good water even if you use a RO/DI system at home? I have a SpectraPure RO/DI system with new filters and cartridges (SP?), but have also been experiencing some problems with dark green carpet algae!
I've purchased from AH Supply a few times in the past, they have good customer service and a decent price, but I've had several bulbs that only lasted about 4 months. Last time they shipped a replacement bulb at no charge. AH Supply suggested to place a glass cover over the tank to minimize the...
Unfortunatley, they are not from CSL. Based on the replies, seems like a few people have had this problem, is there some sort of defect in the bulbs? Back to my main point, will putting a glass top on the tank help or will it filter too much light?
The lights are about one foot off the water. There is some (very little) water spots on the lights and reflectors, but very little to speak of. Do you think putting a glass or plastic cover will make significant difference in the amount of light that gets to the corals?
The sockets and wires...
I have a standard 75 gallon reef tank with 4x96w PC's. The tank has been running for 1.5 years and I have had to change several bulbs 2 times because they burn out or crack. The last one I had only lasted 3 months and it cracked. Someone recomended that I put a glass top on the tank to avoid...
