To perform maintenance on my 75-gallon reef aquarium, I plan to drain half of the water into a plastic garbage can lined with a new plastic garbage bag. Afterwards, the water will be pumped back into the tank.
Do I need to be worried about chemicals from the garbage bag leaching into the water?
I've had my Tunze 9010 for a week but I am not sure if it is adjusted correctly. Which mode are you using:
(a) In-sump mode with the skimmer sitting on its bottom or
(b) In-tank mode with a magnet holder/bracket?
My 9010 is being held by a magnet with its neck at the same level with the rim...
What troubles me is that the Sunpod instruction pamphlet (http://www.current-usa.com/PDF/SunPodModel1061-1066.pdf) states:
"The light fixture is to be used over completely covered aquariums only."
Under this statement is an illustration of an aquarium with "Glass or acrylic top installed."...
I would favor the Sunpod because I like the “glitter lines” produced by MH lights. I hear that these “glitter lines” are more beneficial to clams than the flat lighting produced by tubes.
I am close to buying the Sunpod 48” fixture to replace an ARAD fixture above my 75 gallon reef aquarium...
