Try the "hitchhiker" area of this website. My best advice is: Crabs - hairy/bristled legs are bad - smooth legs are good. Remember, one person's pest is another person's bio-diversity.

I built a canopy similar to your design last year when a bought a PFO retro kit (pair of 400W's) for my 90 Gallon. The lights are about 5-6 inches above the water and with two 4 inch fans running I managed to keep it at or below 84 degrees during the summer. (air conditioned house in Michigan)...

I'd vote for the 400's also - especially if you are partial to the color of the 10000K. I have a pair of 400's (10000K) over my 90 gallon and get by with fans for cooling. If you are concerned about the heat and electrical cost of the 400W's, then you might want to consider 250W 6500K's...

No Fish. I haven't had a fish in my reef tank for over a year and the micro-fauna is incredible.
