I have two JBJ 28 hoods for sale?.an HQI hood and a Quad CF hood
HQI hood
The HQI is a 150 W HQI with what I believe are two actinic CF bulbs. All bulbs work, but uncertain of the age:
The top of the hood has a slight deformity which I believe is from it overheating?.it can be seen in...
I have had great success with a bottle trap.
But here?s the secret?..put a hole in the middle of the bottle and, using your turkey baster, squire some taste treat into that hole. Leave the turkey baster in the hole and every once in a while squirt water into the bottle. This will...
I agree with Boomer......soak your pH probe in vinegar overnight; rinse real well with RO/DI water; calibrate the probe using pH 7 and pH 10 buffers.....and now test your pH.
If you're a two-part user, for high pH, use baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), and if the pH is on the low side, cook...

Definitely two heaters, as others have said. But don?t take lightly the recommendations for a controller. For me it?s as necessary as the heaters themselves. It?s not a question of ?if? your heaters will fail, it?s a question of ?when.? They will fail! Either stuck on or just crap out.
It appears the sides of the tank will be right up against the bookshelves. How will you mount powerheads?
One thought is to put a door on one shelf on either side where the inside of the area has the side boards cut open to access the side of the tank.
Wow, you have a hacksaw! I had to use my wife?s nail file to cut my wood.
I have seen your build?very nice. Good thing you kept that cut-out with the unfortunate break of the JBJ.
Supplier details??? Where did you get that string of red leds....are they Christmas lights?
As far as pictures, first load them in a "hosting" site......I use photobucket.com....and this is free. You then simply copy and paste the IMG code into your post.
