I've used a brand called Z-Spar for that purpose. It is very sticky and cures very hard and strong. Downside: only comes in 2-quart kits for about $70. It works better than anything else I've used though.

IMAC started the year that there was a question whether MACNA would go on or end forever. Obviously, it has continued. The International moniker was used to distinguish it from MAC. I believe it was started by the Chicago reef club and spearheaded by Dennis Gallagher. The conference has...
It's 400 gal, 8ft long. The ends, which are where the Streams are and where Vortechs would have to go are only 3/4" with the front and back 1". I have 1/4" black acrylic inside the glass on the ends though so it's still 1" total.
I don't have any recent pics. I had a crash a bit over a year...
At MACNA they said the Vortechs put out about 3000 gph, same as 6100 Streams are rated for. They also said they compared both "side by side" and the Vortech actually had a higher flow than the Stream. Of course, hardly an unbiased tester.
The one problem for me (other than the fact I already...

None of the salts is "best" in regard to every metal, which makes it hard to compare. Some metals may be much more toxic than others so a salt that is high in a more toxic component may be worse than a salt that is high in 2 or 3 less toxic metals. I did a little tally myself, just for a rough...
This doesn't necessarily help at all. I started using Phosban because of a turf algae outbreak even though my phosphates (and nitrates too) were always undectable (Salifert test kit). The theory is that the algae can take up the nutrients at a lower level than we can detect so they are sucked...
