Sprung was speaking about corals in general not clams at all.. that was just a reference from my knowledge. Although he said nitrates which I do remember as well as phosphates, I think he was just referring to a nitrogen and phosphate source in general in smaller amounts nothing to be problematic.

set up a tank running with plain saltwater in it, and hook up a bunch of shitty skimmers on it, as well as one of the nice quality ones that you are selling. Then you just add some additive to change the surface tension and get the skimmers going, when everyone sees the expensive skimmer pull...

I would offer my help and try to give you some of my business, but at the same time, the chances of you making money are slim. I'm not saying you can't be good at it , its just one of those businesses where if you care about livestock health and all, its going to be hard to make money IMO..
