Here is a link to instructions regarding not operating non quartz sleeve uv sterilizer in less than 72 degrees: www.aqualogicinc.com/products/sterilize ... ctions.pdf
I have a 25IL non quartz uv sterilizer that says not to use at temps less than 72 degrees. If I use it at 68 degrees, how much will it decrease the effectiveness?
Other specs of the system are 125g tank with 440w VHO lighting, salinity is 1.024, tank established for 1.5 years and source water is "soft" water with additional 5 micron filter
My alkalinity is running at 6.8 meq/L, calcium is 400 mg/L and pH is 8.3, nitrates are 20 ppm. Most of the clams on my live rock have died and the corals aren't as perky. I use the B-ionic 2 part additive. I've done 3 water changes in 3 weeks. What else can I do?
Thanks for the replys. I am feeding assorted Aqua-yums frozen food as well as flake food once a day. I think I'll try the cage idea and see if he forgets about coral.
I recently added a Purple Tang to my 125g reef and he keeps pecking on my Open Brain coral to the point where the coral is staying shrunk up. I've tried hanging a peice of lettuce to distract him and he eats that and goes back to the coral. What do I do?
