We use tons of the swr pumps and they work great. I suggest you do your best to keep it clean because the fan seems to be a dust magnet and they can burn up if not cleaned often. I find the larger ones last about two years and the smaller ones about a year, but for the price they are still well...
Tyoberg,
I think you may have been to our house in san jose for the reef get together a few months ago... If not I had a ton of hydroids in my 110 gallon tank, I was planning to move the rock out of that tank to our 300 gallon tank and I ended up throwing away about a hundred and fifty pounds...
If I were you I would step up to the cs8 series, it is not much more money and I think you can never go too big on a skimmer!
We have sold quite a few of the cs6 series but I have never put one in that large of a tank.

lunchbucket,
I guess we will just have to wait and see on the heat issue, I am hoping that the large volume of water will help keep the temp swings down but I really dont know how it will work out. I have a 1/4hp chiller but I dont think it would work out with such a large tank so I dont plan...
Dean,
You nailed it. It is 2 inch angle around the tank on 2 inch box tubing.
Just for the record we have a good 40 years of combined experiance working with steel and during that time we have built 6 steel commercial fishing boats ranging in size from 50 to 65 feet so the stand is not just...
The stand is made from 1/4 inch wall 2 inch box tubing, It would be good for at least 10k lbs. The weight is distributed over the whole stand and the stand is lag bolted into the ground.
Thanks for the concern but if you saw it in person you would see how OVER built the stand is. If it ever...
The sump is 140g and the skimmer is a cs8-4 euro reef (8x36 inches). I just put half of the lights on yesterday, I am running 4 400w 20k halides with pfo ballasts
As far as moving the tank we use large rubermaid tubs and a big truck.
Here is a pic of our new 300 gallon setup, what do you all think? The stand is steel and was built by us, it is lag bolted into the garage floor. The tank will end up being a display tank when we open our store next January so we didnt need anything too fancy for now.
P.S. The lights are being...
O.K. here goes....

I wanted to get some info on an old acrylic tank made by Tru-View and I cant find anything. Does anyone know who if there is a different name for the company that makes these tanks? Are they still around?
Thanks.
Bob
Dr. Ron,
Have you tried to get any money form the salt companies to help with this test? It seems that if they could learn how to make their salt better from these tests they would want to help fund your research, it would help them sell more salt.
Just a thought.
Thanks for helping to...
the best place you will ever see for corals is called reef by design in Denver. it is run by a guy name Steve Chang. He has some of the most amazing tanks you will ever see. You can call him at 303.377.9922
