Are your bulb replaceable, if so go for some VHO bulbs. I have them in my 100 gal./w a rose bubble tip and it's doing fine. If your test ing your water regularly then you going to be fine with some new bulbs. Hoping you have Fluorescent bulbs, then you could replace them with VHO, i'm not sure...

GratefulDiver, thanks...i was talking about the return pump in the sump to the tank..thanks... 1000-2000 gph, i'm useing a Rio 3100, @ 900gph...and also have i believe three 2100 Rio power heads in the tank on a wave machine... The reson i was asking was 'cause i'm overflowing into a micron...

Does anyone know what the gph on a return is per gal's of a tank...talking as the return in a sump of a 100 gal....thanks for help...

Thanks, i am looking at the double ended ones for those would work good in my hood, right. If i was to use 2x 250 watt @ 20k how many of the actinic bulbs should i use? i have 4x48". thanks for what help your giving. Also do you know brand wise as in the quality would be a nice bulb

i'm getting ready to change out my VHO 4x110 bulbs (2X super actinic, 2X actinic white bulbs) in my 100 gal. with 2x250 HQI in my hood....i need to find out what "k" to use, knowing the higher "k" the bluer/purpler, one says 2x 20,000k along with vho aquasuns...any suggestions.... and could use...

anyone have something to say about HQI MH bulbs.

yah i'm changing the bag every 2-3 days, 'cause the bag gets full and the water over flows....that was one reason i was asking 'cause of changing the bag so often...so what are people use if not micro bag???

??? can you lower the water presure that is being forced in the chamber were the bubbles are forming...and if so reduce it so the bubbles just reach the bottum of the collective cup...it could take hours or more but the bubbles will collect the protein and stuff to the top and work it's way in...

so are you all useing micron bags and if so is that all...'cause i'm going out my over flow, threw a micron bag, threw a protein skimmer, threw a black spung media, back to the tank.....
