on saturday i put some carib sea sand that i had bought from a friend in my tank. The sand that he sold me was once alive, but had been sitting out for weeks. So i assume all creatures were dead. Well i put the sand in and it wasn't dirty but a lot of it floated around. My skimmer started...
i heard from my LFS that i should put the rock down first then the sand around it, becasue if you do it the oppositte way(sand then rock) the weight of the rock will put presure on the sand and certain animals will not be able to live there.
anyone know the real truth?!!
My landscape in my tank is very rocky, and i want to purchase some snails. I have read that if one of these snails flips on its back that it will die. It will be nearly impossible for me to reach my snails under all the rock i have. Should i just buy Trochus snails that can flip them selfs over...
