any objections from the MR community?
  2. Stocking a 50 gallon Fowlr

yeah I was thinking i'm gonna nix the Harlequin. I'm thinking that my stocking list will be as follows: Volitans lion, Humu Trigger, Snowflake Eel, Cleaner Wrasse, Maroon Clown + Carpet anemone. I feel like this tank has the potential to work for a year...
  3. Stocking a 50 gallon Fowlr

    anyone?
  4. Stocking a 50 gallon Fowlr

Also, I would just like to say that I am ordering these fish from LiveAquaria (I would get from one of the vendors here if I was still in NY!), and on the LA site the small snowflake eel available is 5"-8", the triggers available are 2"-3", a small volitans lion is 2"-3", butterflys are 3"-4"...
  5. Stocking a 50 gallon Fowlr

Hi MR. I haven't posted in a while here, mostly because I go to school in Wisconsin now (go badgers) and I had a pico earlier this year and a nano last year, but besides that I haven't been into the hobby much lately. Well I recently bought a 50 gallon (36x19x21) with a 250w metal halide fixture...

^^^ agreed. Thats obviously a much better idea
  7. Fish for a 3 gallon Pico

Also I dont like the idea of a goby, a catalina needs cooler water, and the clown goby jumped within 20 hours along with the neon goby. I really want something that wont jump.
  8. Fish for a 3 gallon Pico

I agree that its too small for a clownfish, but I was actually just offered a baby misbar for free. Im afraid though that this clown will jump just like the other two. Any ideas to prevent jumping? Im thinking about just putting a sheet of saran wrap over the tank when I go to bed, since that is...
  9. Fish for a 3 gallon Pico

I have been having some trouble finding some fish for my 3 gallon. Yesterday I got a neon goby and a green clown goby, and last night they both jumped to their fates... I really want to get a fish that won't kill the biology of my tank and that won't jump from the tank after less than a day. The...
  10. Will a clown goby and neon goby get along in my 3 gal?

Keeping a fish in a 3 gallon can definitely be done. And keeping the salinity stable in a 3 gallon can also be done fairly easily. As long as you are around to top off, and buff the ph occasionally, it really isn't much maintenance. Going on vacation for a week and keeping the salinity stable...
  11. Will a clown goby and neon goby get along in my 3 gal?

And what would happen if I just bought 2 neon gobies that are not sexed/mated. Will they fight if they are same sex
  12. Will a clown goby and neon goby get along in my 3 gal?

and I can fit 3 sexy shrimp in a 3 gallon? I have 2 hermits and 1 snail in there right now. I plan on making the tank a softie reef probably with xenia, gsp, ricordeas, and some other stuff like that
  13. Will a clown goby and neon goby get along in my 3 gal?

interesting. I think I may go with that. And they aren't big on jumping right?
  14. Will a clown goby and neon goby get along in my 3 gal?

thanks for the opininon. I figured alot of rockwork and two really small gobies would work. I had a clown goby that lived in a 10 gallon sump and everytime I saw him I would celebrate. I might try it. Dont call PETA on me. Any ideas about the sexy shrimp getting along?
  15. Will a clown goby and neon goby get along in my 3 gal?
