light scratches on nano cube

Hey guys, i recently bought a used 28g nano. It was inexpensive and the gentleman i bought it from told me it had some scratches. He was a really good guy. I was wondering if there is a way to remove these scratches. i went on line and some sites say you can use whitening toothpaste. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
