I found this dry rub for meats, tried it on a rack of ribs, slow cooked them on the charcoal grill using an indirect method of heating (coals to the sides, meat in the middle) and the finished product was AWESOME! Figured I would share it with the family.
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup paprika
1/4 cup seasoned salt
1/4 cup smoked salt (which I couldnt find so I used a smoked pepper mix)
1/4 cup onion salt
1/4 cup celery salt
2 TBSP fresh ground black pepper
2 TBSP pure chili powder (not a blend)
2 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Combine all the ingrediants in a bowl and stir or whisk to mix. If you put it in a container and keep it away from heat, light, and moisture it should last a few months at least. Use a good amount when rubbing on the meat (dont just sprinkle it on). I know it sounds like its gonna be spicey, but its really not. Enjoy!!
