Cheap Driftwood

Does anybody know where I can get my hands on some cheap driftwood?

Relatively small pieces... it's for a 6 gallon eclipse.

Drive to a beach on the ocean and take a walk. You will find some. It is going to be warm this weekend.

I got some pieces laying around from my Cichlid tank, along with rocks and supplements (buffers etc). I'll see if I can get some pics. If your willing to come into New Rochelle for a small piece... i wouldn't drive thar far.. Go to the beach

Thanks for the offer but you're right about the drive. I would go to the beach to collect it for my non-aquatic setups but I'd be hesitant to use stuff from a saltwater beach in a fw tank.

yeah, i used to do the same.. too bad its not that nice out these days, i had my wood sit out in the hot summer sun for a good month to kill anything nasty off.

Would the wood degrade and cause parameter problems in a saltwater tank?

the driftwood will drop your PH and yellow the water... i wouldnt use it for salt.. only brackish. but thats up to you!
