Coin Collecting anyone?

I just recently found a penny with an indian head on it. Stamped the year 1880 on the face and the wheat penny backing. it shows wear but looks in good shape. Anyone know anything about the history or worth of this item. Can't get a good pic of it.

best bet sell it on ebay... wont get much maybe $5.00 tops
in order for it to be worth alot must be rare, ex. not many made during that year, a flaw found on printing press., recalled for some reason.

some will pay up to $82.000 happy hunting...

This just reminded me of antique road show when you see these visibly excited people sitting there with whoever is appraising, and then they find out it's either a replica of what they thought it was or not nearly as valuable and they look like somebody just stole their retirement money right in front of them. Not that I watch that show but if I pass it while surfing it's good for a few minutes of amusement.

100x my money, that's pretty damn good.

real money to be made is in bag lots direct from the mint - forced savings, but if you get a lot with imperfections, even one out of thousands of coins, it's worth thousands.

They were made of steel during 1943 because they used the copper for bullets during WWII. The steel is attracted to a magnet whereas silver or copper wouldn't be.

Only about a dozen 1943 copper pennies exist. Maybe less. It was a mistake.
